June 2010

Winter has hit, it is icy and cold and the girls are growing up fast. This month we have been to Rutherglen for Winery Walkabout, to Laura's 12th birthday party and Scott has been to Sydney to take photos. We also made a trip to Anglesea to visit Luke, Fi, Tanami and Banjo.

Maya is learning to ride a bike without training wheels and enjoying playing with her friends from kinder. Drawing, writing, making jewelery with beads, playing doctors and 'Mums and Dads' are her favorite activities. Dacing on Mondays, Kinder on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings keeps Maya busy.

Ruby has hit the 20 month mark and is talking like a pro - she seems to have command of most words now. She loves her friends, gives them kisses and cuddles and knows all their names. Ruby has adopted 'Pippy' as her 'best bear' and has become very attached - looks like we are in for another few years of trying not to lose a precious bear. Ruby is a very busy girl and never stops running, climbing, destroying, playing. She has quite a temper but is a happy little soul.

Work, kinder, toy library, volunteering, catching up with friends, the chooks, the garden, the 'almost on the way' shed, Maya's dancing, a bit of sewing, these are the things that are keeping us busy at the moment.

Slopes to Summit

Off to Holbrook on a sunny May day for the launch of the Slopes to Summit program - organised by Scott and his work mates at Nature Conservation Trust. Highlights - seeing Oma Jill and Debbie, face painting, Maya's first helicopter flight (mum is yet to do this) and meeting the diamond python.

Ruby turns 18 months!

It has been 18 months since Ruby came roaring into the world in the back of the car in the middle of nowhere - well Tarrawingee to be exact. Our precious girl is talking up a storm and understands most of what we say. Ruby loves to sing, play with teddies, climb, talk to the chooks, collect chook eggs and hold onto the egg for half an hour. Also loves her trike, riding on the back of mums bike, getting a turn on Maya's scooter and playing with her little friend Oskar. Ruby has got Maya sussed out and give her a good bite, hit or scream when Maya is throwing her weight around (not that we are encouraging this). Happy 18 months Ruby.

Easter

We stayed home this Easter, enjoyed the sunshine, watched the Easter parade from the front of the pub, had a pizza party on Friday night, caught up with Mum, Dad & Clairey, had the egg hunt with bunny footprints and a big bonfire at Caz and Snowy's on Sunday night.

Our Girls

Some picures of our girls doing their thing:
Maya's crazey hair after rolling around on the trampoline, Maya's beloved scooter, Ruby trying to get on on the scooter act, and our Daddy's girl - Ruby.

Yabbies

Maya had her first Yabbying experience on the weekend. Scott, Ashy and Maya caught quite a few and we now have 4 pet yabbies in the kitchen named Maya, Ruby, Mia & Sage.

Australia Day 2010

We spent the day swimming, relaxing by the lake, listening to the hottest 100, cold beers, water melon - what a wonderful country we live in.
